Mubeen App
Making Arabic and Quran Learning Simple and Fun

What is Mubeen?
Mubeen is a mobile app designed to be the only app you need to learn the Holy Quran and Arabic. My job was to design the app from start to finish, making it easy and enjoyable for everyone.
App Name: Mubeen - Learn Arabic & Holy Quran
My Role: Senior Product Designer
What it does: Helps people learn Arabic and study the Quran through their phones
The Market Opportunity
Malaysia's Massive Muslim Market
22.4 million Muslims
65% of the total population, in 2024
3200+ New Converts
in Selangor alone in 2017 (just one of 13 states)
5,000-20,000 new converts
If other states have similar conversion rates, Malaysia could see 15,000-20,000 new converts annually nationwide.
The Core Problem
New Muslims don't know where to start learning Islam properly.
That's it. It's that simple.
When someone becomes Muslim in Malaysia, they face a big challenge: How do I learn to be a good Muslim?
They need to:
Learn to read Arabic to understand the Quran
Understand basic Islamic teachings
Find a good teacher who can help them
Learn at their own pace without feeling embarrassed
However, finding good Islamic education is often challenging, expensive, or unavailable where they live.
Who uses this app?
Our Main Users: New Muslim Converts
Who they are:
About 15,000-20,000 people become Muslim in Malaysia each year
They're adults who need to learn Islam from the very beginning
They often feel lost about where to start
They want authentic Islamic education, but in a beginner-friendly way
Their main problem: I am new to Islam and don't know how to learn properly.
Other Users: Existing Muslims
Who they are:

Adults who want to improve their Islamic knowledge
Anyone from Malaysia's 22.4 million Muslims who wants better Islamic education
Their main problem: I want good Islamic education, but it's hard to find or doesn't fit my schedule.

How I designed the app
Main ideas I followed:
Beginner-first - Everything is designed for people who know nothing about Islam
Not scary - Friendly and welcoming, not intimidating
Like a game - Fun rewards and achievements to keep people motivated
Learn anywhere - Works on phone, so people can learn at home
Real help - Connect with actual teachers, not just reading material
